In 2019, Fay suffered PTSD as a result of a winter mountaineering accident, and whilst receiving the help she needed created massive changes, she found snow to be an enormous trigger event for her. In early 2020, whilst on a winter trip to the Sierra Nevada, California, Fay was determined to get to a more peaceful place with the snow again and to not let the idea of snow and winter exploration be a big steel door in her progress. It may sound cliche, but pushing out the other side of your comfort zone is always worth it…
